Dr. John M. Pierre
CEO and Co-founder
Dr. John M. Pierre is a seasoned software entrepreneur with a track record of developing new technologies and products at startups and larger firms in industries ranging from enterprise software to national defense. He was a member of the founding technical team at Metacode Technologies Inc. where he spearheaded the development of technologies and core IP that led to an acquisition by Interwoven Inc. At Interwoven, he managed several product releases for the Content Intelligence product line and was involved in company wide software architecture efforts. He has published several papers in automated classification and text mining. Dr. Pierre has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a Ph.D. in Physics from U.C. Santa Barbara, and B.S. degrees in Physics and Humanities from MIT.
John Hellwig
Executive Vice President and Co-founder
John Hellwig has played key management, engineering, and investor roles in a number of developing companies, including: CEO of Metacode Technologies, General Manager of Interwoven Inc.’s Content Intelligence Division, General Partner and Senior VP-Acquisitions of the $3 billion Consolidated Capital Companies, Chief Financial Officer of San Francisco–Moscow Teleport (first email service to former Soviet Union), and Project Engineer of Aerojet General Corporation's Medical Products Division, where he directed R&D engineering on artificial heart devices. John earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Mark H. Butler
CTO and Co-founder
Mark H. Butler has held positions as Senior Member of Technical Staff at Interwoven, Inc. where he was a primary architect for the MetaTagger product; and Senior Information Scientist at Metacode Technologies where he developed several commercial products for customers such as Network Solutions Inc., Reuters Health, and Morrison & Foerster LLP. Mr. Butler has published several papers in the areas of information retrieval, digital library usability, and metadata. Mr. Butler has completed his Ph.D. coursework at the School of Information Management and Systems, University of California, Berkeley.
Linda Hayes
Acting Chief Marketing Officer
Linda Hayes brings to the Linguastat team almost 20 years of executive management experience. Most recently she was COO of FusionOne, where she headed up marketing, sales, business development, engineering, finance, and technical operations. At FusionOne she turned the Company to cash flow positive and quadrupled revenue. Prior to FusionOne she was COO and CEO of Andale, the largest third-party Internet applications provider for eBay sellers. During her tenure with Andale she was responsible for increasing the Company’s revenues 500% and creating a profitable operation. Before Andale, Linda was Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of General Magic. There she also ran the Company’s business segment, the MyTalk Consumer Service, voted at the time as one of the top three websites on the Internet. In addition Linda has held executive positions with Pretty Good Privacy, Novell, Zenith Data Systems, and Motorola. Linda has been the recipient of numerous industry awards.
Jim Hankle
Vice President Engineering
Jim Hankle brings to Linguastat over 20 years of experience in advanced software architecture and product deployment, with particular focus on intelligent data management solutions. Prior to joining Linguastat, Jim was vice president of engineering at Digital Keystone, where he led the entire engineering team and managed the key customer relationship with Microsoft. Previously, Jim was principle engineer at Interwoven, Inc. There he led the development of the MetaTagger Content Intelligence Server. Jim has worked in the defense industry where he developed real-time target tracking systems and managed the design and implementation of the world’s first real-time broadcast scheduling system for multi-channel digital television. Jim has also held senior engineering positions at SunUp, Veritas, Advantest, Frame Technologies, and Texas Instruments. He holds a BSCS from Colorado State University
