Michela O’Connor Abrams is President and Publisher of Dwell, the award-wining design and lifestyle media company. Under her leadership, Dwell has extended its brand to include dwell.com, the Dwell Homes Collection, and Dwell on Design. Prior to Dwell, Ms. O’Connor Abrams was the President of Imagine Media’s Business Division, including their flagship Business 2.0. She has over 25 years of experience in publishing, online branding strategies, trade show management, and strategic business development. She has held executive positions at IDG, Ziff-Davis, and McGraw-Hill. Ms. O’Connor Abrams serves on several boards, including the Board of Magazine Publishers of America’s Independent Magazine Advisory Group (MPA-IMAG).
Susan H. Nycum
Susan H. Nycum, Esq. provides mediation and arbitration services in IP and technology related disputes. Ms. Nycum was formerly an international partner of Baker & McKenzie, where she was the chair of the firm’s North America Intellectual Property and Information Technology practice group and a member of the firm’s governing bodies for North America and Asia Pacific. Ms. Nycum’s previous outstanding accomplishments include: member of the National Science Foundation advisory board for Internet funding; advisor to the governments of Brazil, Canada, Finland, Germany, Israel, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States for IT and IP policy; Chair of the ABA section of Science and Technology; and President of the Computer Law Association.
Betsy Burroughs
Betsy Burroughs is the founder and president of FocusCatalyst, a marketing consultancy in San Francisco, CA, and the author of the book, FOCUS. The Catalyst for Creativity. She has held senior executive positions at several high-tech publishing companies, including InfoWorld, where she was Vice President of Marketing. Betsy has over 25 years of marketing experience and has marketed products ranging from NEC semiconductors to Sun-Made raisins. She is on the board of the Waldzell Meeting in Vienna, Austria.
Joseph A. Busch
Joseph Busch is the Founder and a Principal of Taxonomy Strategies. Mr. Busch is an authority in the field of information science, a Past President of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (www.asist.org), and an appointee to the Board of Directors of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (dublincore.org). He is the author of many articles on indexing, classification research, and information retrieval systems.
Dr. Ron Daniel, Jr.
Ron is an expert on XML industry standards, an active member of the XML and metadata standardization communities, and a noted digital library researcher. He chaired the PRISM (Publishers Requirements for Industry Standard Metadata) working group (prismstandard.org), and is acting chair of the XML Linking working group. He has been a member of the RDF working groups, and has co-edited numerous specifications including PRISM, XPointer, three IETF RFCs, and the first two Dublin Core (dublincore.org) reports.
Professor Ray R. Larson
Professor Ray R. Larson is faculty member of the School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley where he teaches and does research on information system design and development. Professor Larson is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the National Centre for Text Mining program in the U.K.
Ross Stapleton-Gray
Ross Stapleton-Gray is a principal of Stapleton-Gray & Associates, and leads its technology consulting practices. Dr. Stapleton-Gray has served as an intelligence analyst and planning officer with the Central Intelligence Agency and Intelligence Community Management Staff; as technology manager for the American Petroleum Institute; and as IT Security Officer in the University of California Office of the President. He was a co-founder of Sandstorm Enterprises, Inc., an information security tools provider.
